NANONANOのアトリエでは、パソコンや液晶ＴＶなどの電気製品に使用されている、ICチップやコンデンサー、抵抗といった様々な電子部品を加工し、ユーモラスで表情豊かなキャラクターへと変身させる作業が行われています。
At NANONANO’s atelier, various electronic components such as IC chips, capacitors, and resistors used in electrical products such as PCs and LCD TVs are processed and transformed into humorous and expressive characters.
電子部品をカットし、洗浄、穴を開け、研磨し・・・、加工から組み立てまでをすべて手作業で行い、その作業は0.1ｍｍ単位！！ 一つの穴を開けるだけでも、針先でマークを付けてから３工程を施すなど、精密で気の遠くなる様な作業を積み重ねます。既製品である電子部品を使って作品に仕上げるためには、見えないところにも様々なこだわりと工夫が施されています。使う道具もほとんどがNANONANO専用にカスタマイズ。
Cutting, cleaning, drilling, polishing electronic components…, everything from processing to assembly is done by hand, and the work is made to the nearest 0.1 mm! Even drilling a single hole requires three steps after marking it with a needlepoint, a process that is precise and painstaking. In order to create an artwork using off-the-shelf electronic components, a lot of care and ingenuity is put into the invisible parts. Most of the tools used are also customized by Koichi Miyajima solely for NANONANO.

What we can show you here is only a small part of the processes, but it is the love and dedication of Koichi Miyajima and the atelier staff that bring inorganic electronic components to life and give birth to these artworks.
